Installing a Lotus Pre-formed
Pool
-
Mark out the shape using a
hose, rope or dry sand poured from a bottle to form an outline, allowing you
to dig a hole slightly larger than the pond.
-
The base of the hole must
be flat and deep enough to allow for a covering of sand 2.5cm - 5cm
(1”-2”) to protect the pool from stones and help when levelling.
-
Place the pool in the hole
and adjust it until the top is completely level. Check frequently that it is
level throughout installation.
-
Shovel the soil into the
space around the pond as you fill with water. Keep the soil and pond water
level the same so that the pond doesn’t move when the soil is being
compacted down. Make sure that the built-in shelves are also supported with
soil.
-
Leave the pond at this
stage for at least a week to allow the in-fill soil to settle before
edging the pond, planting, positioning waterfalls etc.
