“The World of Water Garden”
for Hampton Court 2008
World of Water has returned to the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show this year with another garden created by award winning designer Pete Sims. The design features a large pond with a sunken patio area where you can sit and enjoy the cool and soothing atmosphere from a unique viewpoint. Beyond the patio, a timber and stone shelter provides a spot from which to enjoy a panoramic view of the garden.

Whilst the garden has a formal design and layout, the planting scheme is naturalistic in style. A subtle mix of native species and more exotic plants has been carefully chosen to form a space that is tranquil and relaxing, where wildlife is encouraged and enjoyed.
The garden is sheltered by mature shrub borders to give excellent protection from the elements, while the pond has large clumps of mature lilies, and is edged with dense planting of marginal and moisture-loving plants. The planting around the sunken patio area creates an interesting peek-a-boo effect; the garden can be viewed through the plants, which is particularly engaging when a light breeze rustles through the rushes and grasses.
This is the perfect garden to enjoy..
